About us
Kenilworth is a grand Victorian house built from traditional Lakeland slate.
Under our ownership the house has been thoroughly refurbished and redecorated and we are confident that even in the coldest weather guests staying with us will be warm and comfortable.
Wherever possible original features have been retained such as the tiled floor and stained glass of the entrance porch, which leads into the spacious hallway with it's original open pitch pine staircase.
The house retains the same warm and welcoming feel that we so much enjoyed when we stayed here as guests ourselves

There is a spacious and comfortable ground floor lounge for guests to use, with a plentiful supply of literature describing local attractions, and walking and touring maps of the area which may be borrowed. For the occasional wet day (and there are some!) there is a range of reading matter, games and jigsaws and a digital colour tv and DVD player.

Our hearty breakfasts are served in the ground floor dining room. Full English breakfast is included of course, although a lighter version or vegetarian alternative is also available. We serve local produce (the sausage is made by the local butcher) and the free-range eggs are delivered from the local farm. Quorn sausages are offered for our vegetarian guests, and these are cooked separately from the meat products.

Holly Road is a leafy side road just two minutes' walk to the local shops, cafes and restaurants, and we are happy to make suggestions, depending on likes, dislikes and finances!
We have some private off-road parking and there is free parking on Holly Road itself.

We are also happy to help plan your days' activities, whether you are visiting the area for the first time, or are amongst the many British or overseas visitors who return to stay with us on a regular basis.
